Project 2 : Klang Civic Center
Project 1c demands individual innovation of an architectural design of a city Civic Center for Majlis Bandaraya Klang (MBK). This stage of project is to demonstrate that the ideas promoted inProject 1bwill appreciate the idea of the city as a community. You will employ a content-driven design approach (Low, K. M, 2010) that will allow developing the design as a narrative to the specific research question in architecture. Architecture is a process that has much more power than just being a physical outcome or a functional setting and is a purposeful endeavor that has the power to resolve issues that are of concern to the city and the nation.
You are required to resolve spatial, structural and technical aspects in order to deliver a community centric building of approximately 5,000 sqm of gross floor area (GFA). You are also required to explore and critically reflect on theories in urban design to enrich your knowledge on resolving the urban issues relevant to your design positions.
