Project 2b : Recycle centre
For Project 2b individual project, we are required to considered some aspects:
Usage : Recycling place for the community
Building Siting : Setbacks as per authority requirements (where applicable)
Building Height : 2 - 3 Storeys. Approximate Floor Area : 800 sq m. (with the possibility to expand) Facilities : To provide a Mixed-Use Facility to cater for the needs of recycling
The submission requirement is to produce:
1. Site Plan – to show proposed building roof plan together with adjacent buildings and landscape (Scale no smaller than 1:250)
2. Plans, Sections, Elevation 1:100 (indicating strong relationship with the physical environment/site) 3. Diagrams showing Design concept, Site Analysis & Design Implication
4. Precedent Studies Diagrams
5. 2 key perspectives – 1 interior & 1 exterior - demonstrating poetics generated by relationship between environment and architectural space (To demonstrate actual use of space)
6. A final model (1:200) (indicating strong relationship with the physical environment/site)
7. Evidence of design process and thoughts through a series of models vignettes (Scale 1:200)

Reflection
Throughout this semester, I have learned to develop awareness of environmental sustainability in architectural design. I also learned to design a building to meet the imperative and inter-related environmental and social needs as well as the poetic qualities. Besides, I also learned to produce several design solutions to reduce environmental impact utilizing clustered typology and passive energy. A good design should be able to provide and seamlessly fit with nature and site context, so that able to provide the best experiences for the users.
