Project 3 : Feasibility study

The client (the same as in Assignment 1 and 2) has decided to proceed with the project.

 

PART I: APPOINTMENT OF ARCHITECT
He is appointing you as his architect and has forwarded you his letter of offer. You need to
propose him your professional fees in order to conclude the appointment. Your response will
include the following:
1. Letter of Acceptance of Appointment.
2. The Memorandum of Agreement between the Client and the Professional Architect for
Architectural Consultancy Services (to be filled and signed where necessary).

 

PART II: FEASIBILITY STUDY
The client needs you to provide a Feasibility Study (including TCC, GDC, GDV, GDP, RoI etc.) to
equip him better in implementing of the project. Company specialty and area of interest of your
practice need to be dove-tailed and included in the study.

For the project, students need to propose:
• A site
• Building program
• Schematic design which includes plans, section, elevations and perspectives
• Schedule of accommodation (list of rooms/areas including area in sq.m.)
• Area calculations e.g. Plot Ratio, Gross Area, Nett Area etc.
• Basic specification of building structure/elements and architectural materials/finishes (no
quantities needed)
• Basic specification of architectural internal finishes and fittings: sanitaryware & tapware
and ironmongery (no quantities needed)
• Implementation program. Width can be in A3 size or longer but height to be A4
