Project 2 : Project report
PART I: ADVICE TO CLIENT
Architects are to provide professional advice clients as part of their role and responsibility. The
layman client (in Project 1) has expressed his keenness to proceed with the project. There are
several issues with regards to the project that requires advice. Chose 4 (four) of the issues and
give your advice. They are as follows:
1. He revealed that there was already an architect working on the schematic design proposal
but wanted you to replace him and continue as architect from design stage until completion
and final account closed
2. He wanted you to provide a building concept design proposal before he can confirm your
engagement
3. He also wanted to change the site and want you to advise him on this new site
4. He requested that you to give reduction in professional fees for your services
5. He wanted you to also provide interior design services and signage design services
6. He wanted you to advise him on the need of other consultants that are required for the full
completion of a typical project. Identify the consultants that are needed and give
justifications
7. He wanted you to inspect the works during construction regularly to ensure the project is
implemented properly
8. He requested you to provide cost estimate for the project
9. He wanted you to provide services only up to tender stage as he wants to get another
architect to continue with the construction and complete the project.
