Project 2: Final project management report

The objectives of this project are as follows:

• To understand the application of management techniques in the control and direction of project resources

• To evaluate the dynamic changes which occur during a project’s life cycle and the nature of a project’s success.

• To understand the means of evaluating and managing risks that can lead to success and failure in a project’s performance.

Your task is to document your own Design Studio Project from the point of view of a Project Manager. Document (Written report, annotated visual images) will be in 5 main Components in total:

1. Introduction of Project (Identifying clients, stakeholders, objectives and goals).

2. Design Analysis, picking up issues of Design Suitability and Project Viability and specifically related to your design. (Note: This is to be in essay format, schematic diagrams, sketches and drawing where necessary).

3. Project Procurement and Resource Planning (to identify the most suitable contract procurement for the project and planning of resources, organization structures to achieve project deliverables)

4. Risk Analysis, and Maintenance Strategy (to achieve the identified success criteria and project deliverables). This must be in a table format.

5. Success Criteria, WBS, Gantt chart (showing the measurable success criteria for the overall implementation strategy, analysis of critical paths, floats plotted against time). This chart will highlight Project Deliverables.

6. Students are required to perform their own research and study on the mentioned components.

Reflection

By the end of this project,i am able to understand the following:

• Apply Project Management tools and techniques to control and communicate to achieve a common goal

• Summarize strategies for the execution of the development process in response to the client's objectives.
